The first time my family was boo'd was when my daughter Lauren was in Kindergarten. She received a letter similar to this one and a small plastic pumpkin filled with Halloween candy. We couldn't wait to head off to the store to fill our own container with candies and deliver them to her other friends. What we didn't realize, was just how many of her friends had already been boo'd! It made for a fun night of trying to figure out which house we could boo, but finally we found two friends that hadn't yet been in on the fun.
Now every October we keep the tradition alive and boo our friends in the neighborhood. So just how does boo'ing work? It's as simple as collecting 6 items, of which I recommend the following:
1. An orange balloon with black string
2. Ghost marshmallows
3. You've Been Boo'd instruction sheet
4. Glass Bottles
5. Candy Corn
6. Kitty Halloween Scarf with bells
Once you have all the items above, simply fill the glass bottles with the candy corn and close the lid. Slip the Kitty Halloween Scarf over the bottle. Wrap the Ghost Marshmallows in cellophane and hot glue the bottom to the Vintage Milk Bottle lid. Print the "You've Been Boo'd" instructions. Tie the orange balloon and black string to the bottle. Now go find two friends to deliver the "You've Been Boo'd" treats too. What a great creative and fun way for kids to learn to give back to others!
